About
A small firm with a very large body of work
The short version
Agilevent has been shipping software for more than twenty years — quietly, and usually inside products you already know. Mobile apps used by hundreds of millions of people. Systems for banks, studios, universities, and startups that became household names.
We stayed small on purpose. Small means senior. Small means the person who understands your problem is the person who solves it. And small means we only take work we can do exceptionally well.
Today, alongside custom development and fractional CTO work, much of our practice is AI enablement: helping companies move from AI experiments to AI systems that run their business. Same standard as always — it has to work in production, or it doesn't count.
Founder
Donn Felker
Donn Felker founded Agilevent after a career spent shipping software at every scale — from scrappy startups to some of the largest companies in the world. He is an author, a teacher who has reached hundreds of thousands of developers through books, courses, and podcasts, and a consultant trusted by the brands on our client list.
He currently leads AI initiatives at a global technology company, which means Agilevent's AI guidance comes from someone doing this work inside a real organization right now — not from a slide deck.

How we operate
Four principles, no exceptions
Right tool, right job
No pet stacks, no dogma. A web app gets the right web technology; a performance-critical system might call for Go or Rust. We pick what serves the problem, not what we felt like using.
Move fast
Momentum is the strategy. We scope in days, ship in weeks, and make decisions while they are still cheap. Slow is the most expensive thing a project can be.
Done beats perfect
Software is never finished — only shipped or abandoned. We put working software in real hands early and improve it in production, because polishing in private just burns your budget.
Verifiable results
"It works" is a claim — we ship the proof. Tests, guardrails, and observability come built in, so you can see for yourself that the system does its job long after we hand it over.
